Disney’s PhotoPass

This system can be confusing but it doesn’t have to be!

At most character meet and greets, park entrances and main icons there is a Disney PhotoPass photographer who will take pictures and then present you with a plastic card. This card contains a number that stores your photos digitally. You will receive a new card with each character experience OR you may hand your initial card to the photographer to be re-used. I usually keep the first one I get and continue to re-use it.

Benefits of the PhotoPass system: Here is an example of what has happened to our family: After my girl’s makeovers at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, my husband took one of our daughters to meet Minnie Mouse, while I took the other to the Princess Fantasy Faire. I had the camera… However, my husband received a PhotoPass card from the photographer so fortunately we have the pictures with Minnie!

Can I use my own photos with the PhotoPass system? You are able to upload your own photos onto the PhotoPass website and use Disney borders and designs to enhance them.

Disney’s PhotoPass+ Card A PhotoPass+ Card has more options than a regular PhotoPass Card (regular PhotoPass Cards are free and given out by a PhotoPass photographer). Here are the benefits of purchasing PhotoPass+ Card:

  • Customize photos with a variety of Disney boarders
  • Magic Shot photos
  • Ability to print photos at any processing centre within the parks
  • Includes a Photo CD with all your personal PhotoPass photos and select attraction, experience and dining photos as well ($169.00 value)

Magic Shots A Magic Shot is a picture set up to look like you are holding, for example, Tinkerbell, in your hand. You can request a Magic Shot from any Disney PhotoPass Photographer. Tell them which character you would like included in your picture, and they will set it up for you.

How to Purchase Disney PhotoPass+ card

  • Disney PhotoPass+ is sold at PhotoPass Sales Centers located throughout Disneyland/California Adventure ($99.95)
  • You may pre-purchase a PhotoPass+ a full 14 days before your arrival date ($69.95-a $30 savings if you pre-purchase!) /specialoffers/

Using PhotoPass after you return

  • There are many options on the PhotoPass website for you to use after your vacation. Choose from Digital scrapbooks, fun borders, greeting cards, photo CDs etc. /disneyphotopass/
  • This is not an inexpensive service. For example, two 4x6 photos (taken by a PhotoPass photographer) with a themed border is $14.95! (insert sample pic here).
  • Pictures expire within 30 days but you will be notified via email
  • Upon returning from Disneyland, follow this link to help you through the PhotoPass experience /creating/

Disney Pin Trading

Throughout the parks, you will see cast members (employees) and guests wearing lanyards adorned with pins. Although it can be costly, purchasing and trading pins can be a lot of fun.
