Choosing a Hotel at Disneyland

Choosing a hotel for your Disneyland vacation can be a tricky process. There are a wide variety of hotels and motels, both inside of and outside of the resort, all with their pros and cons.

Why should we should we stay at a Disneyland Resort Hotel? https://disneyland.disney.go.com/hotels/

  • Close to the parks
  • Convenient location with quick access to The Downtown Disney District where you can hop the monorail to take you directly to Disneyland’s Tomorrowland
  • Exclusive entrance through Grand Californian into California Adventure
  • Disney Character Dining in each hotel
  • Disney Character wake-up calls
  • Pinocchio’s Workshop provides licensed child minding service for children aged 5-12
  • Key to the Magic and Package Express allows guests to charge meals and merchandise to their room and have the merchandise delivered to their hotel
  • Extra Magic Hour for each day of the theme park ticket
    • Disneyland - Tuesdays/Thursdays/Saturdays
    • California Adventure - Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays/Sundays

Why should we should we stay at a Good Neighbor Hotel? https://disneyland.disney.go.com/hotels/good-neighbor/

  • Good Neighbor Hotels include ALL hotels in the area surrounding Disneyland Park
  • They are independent hotels or hotel chains and do NOT include the 3 Disneyland Resort Hotels
  • They are a less expensive hotel option
  • Many are a short walking distance to the Park entrance
  • Many are NOT a short walk to the Park entrance so may require use of the ART (Anaheim Regional Transit) or taxi
  • Some may have shuttles to and from the Park
  • Less expensive dining options are available near most Good Neighbor Hotels
  • Easier access to outside shops and services
